Strategic Campaign
2025 Budget Vote
Informing, engaging, and mobilizing the community through strategic communication
To build an informed and engaged community ahead of the 2025 school budget vote, Hicksville Public Schools launched a comprehensive communication campaign tailored to parents, staff, students, residents, and local media. Early research identified recurring misconceptions and community concerns, which were addressed with clear, data supported messaging developed from state aid reporting and internal financial documents. A dedicated budget webpage, glossary, and frequently asked questions provided accessible resources, while flyers, brochures, posters, and QR codes extended the reach into schools and public spaces. Social media posts, explainer videos, and daily Points of Pride stories highlighted the impact of district programs and reinforced the value of investment in education. The campaign unfolded in three phases—awareness, engagement, and voter participation—leading up to the May 20 vote. This multi channel approach helped secure approval of the district budget with 65.3 percent in favor, while also driving strong social media engagement and positive feedback from both school leadership and community members.
