Rebranding Proposal: Revitalizing a local retail brand with a bold, distinct visual identity
Blu Poppy Boutique, a woman owned small business in Massapequa, New York, sought to strengthen its presence in a competitive retail landscape where many local boutiques had adopted similar visual styles. A brand audit and market research showed that while the shop offered a carefully curated product selection, its identity did not stand out. I proposed a full rebranding initiative built around a modern, fashion forward identity that would capture the boutique’s personality and resonate with its core audience of teens, young adults, and women. The plan introduced a redesigned logo, refreshed typography and color palette, brand voice guidelines, and a flexible visual system for both digital and in store applications. Social media templates, signage, and packaging were also updated to create a consistent customer experience, with an optional website refresh recommended to extend the new look online. The rebrand was designed to elevate professional appeal while preserving the approachable, trend driven vibe of the boutique, with success measured through stronger brand recognition, increased engagement, and positive customer feedback.
